Folders & Tags
Organize your saved responses with folders and tags for quick retrieval.
Savelore gives you two ways to organize your saves: tags (flexible labels) and folders (structured containers). Use them together or separately depending on how you think about your content.
Tags
Tags are free-form labels. A save can have multiple tags. They're best for cross-cutting topics that span many different conversations and projects.
Adding a tag:
- Save a response
- Click the save in the sidebar to open its detail view
- Type a tag in the tags field and press Enter
Filtering by tag: Click any tag in the sidebar to filter the list to just saves with that tag. Click it again to clear the filter.
Tag ideas:
- Topic tags:
python,sql,marketing,design - Project tags:
website-launch,q2-report - Status tags:
to-revisit,important,draft - Type tags:
code-snippet,explanation,template
Folders
Folders are a more rigid structure — each save can belong to one folder. Use folders for distinct projects or contexts where you want a clean separation.
Creating a folder:
- Open the sidebar
- Click the + button next to "Folders" in the sidebar header
- Enter a folder name and press Enter
Moving a save to a folder:
- Open the save detail view
- Click the folder dropdown
- Select or search for the destination folder
Viewing a folder: Click the folder name in the sidebar to see only the saves inside it.
Using both together
The most effective setup uses both:
- Folders for top-level project separation (e.g.,
Work,Personal,Side project) - Tags for topic labels within and across folders (e.g.,
coding,research)
This way you can browse by folder (project context) or filter by tag (topic), and find things either way.
Renaming and deleting
Rename a folder or tag: Click the pencil icon next to it in the sidebar.
Delete a folder: Right-click or use the three-dot menu. Saves inside won't be deleted — they'll move to "Unfiled."
Delete a tag: Remove a tag from all saves that use it, or use the tag management view to bulk-remove it.
If you're just starting out, don't overthink organization. Save first, organize later. The search bar finds anything by full text, so you don't need perfect organization to find things.
