Chat-aware filtering

When you open the sidebar on a chat page, Savelore automatically shows only the saves from that conversation.

Chat-aware filtering is an automatic feature that activates whenever you open the Savelore sidebar while on a ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini conversation page.

How it works

When you open the sidebar on a chat page, Savelore detects which conversation you're in and automatically filters the sidebar to show only the saves you made from that specific conversation.

You don't configure anything. It just works.

This means:

  • You're in a long coding conversation → open the sidebar → see only the code snippets and explanations you saved from that session
  • You're in a recipe brainstorming chat → open the sidebar → see only the recipes you saved there
  • You switch to a different conversation → the sidebar updates to match

Why it's useful

Without this feature, your saves list grows over time into a long scroll of unrelated content. Chat-aware filtering solves this by giving you local context: you see what's relevant to where you are right now.

This is especially valuable when you're:

  • Continuing a project — return to a previous conversation and immediately see all the useful pieces you already saved from it
  • Reviewing before continuing — before writing a new message, glance at what you already captured from this chat
  • Comparing conversations — open two tabs on the same topic, see which one has more saves

Turning off the filter

The filter is a toggle. If you want to see all your saves while on a chat page, click the filter indicator at the top of the sidebar (it shows "Filtered: [conversation name]") to clear it. The sidebar returns to showing everything.

Works with search

Chat-aware filtering works alongside the search bar. You can be filtered to the current conversation and search within it, or clear the filter and search across everything.

Reality check

The filter is based on the conversation URL. If you open the same chat in multiple tabs, both will filter to the same save set.
