Local-First, Cloud When You Want It
Simple promise: Your AI conversations are private by default, stored locally on your device.
Savelore works entirely on your device with no account required. We never see your ChatGPT or Claude conversations. Want to sync across devices? That's optional - you can enable cloud sync by signing up, and even then, only the snippets you've explicitly saved get synced.
Why We Built It This Way
We're AI users too. We know how personal and valuable your AI conversations can be - whether it's work projects, learning new skills, or creative ideas. That's exactly why we designed Savelore to be completely private and local-first from day one.
The extension works 100% offline with no account. Cloud sync is optional - only enable it when you want your saved snippets accessible across devices.
Cloud Sync (Optional)
By default, everything stays local. But if you want to access your saved snippets from multiple devices, you can enable cloud sync by signing up with your email.
What Gets Synced to the Cloud (When You Enable Sync):
- • Saved snippets - The AI responses you explicitly saved
- • Folders - Your folder names and organization
- • Tags - Tags you've created for organizing snippets
- • Settings - Your preferences and Pro status
- • Your email - For account management and sync
What We DON'T Sync:
- • Your full AI conversation history (only what you choose to save)
- • Conversations you didn't explicitly save
- • Your ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini account data
- • Your browsing history
Cloud Storage Provider: We use Supabase (a secure, privacy-focused database platform) to store your synced data.
Encryption: Your data is encrypted at rest on Supabase servers.
Access Control: Only you can access your data. We use Row Level Security to ensure users can only see their own snippets and folders.
Data Location: Your synced data is stored on Supabase's servers (AWS infrastructure).
What We DON'T Do (The Important Stuff)
Even with cloud sync, we don't access or read your saved snippets.
Cloud sync is opt-in. By default, everything stays local.
No snippet content, no search queries, no tag names.
Extension works fully offline. Accounts are only needed for cloud sync.
We make money from Pro licenses (one-time payment), not from your information.
Your data stays between you and Savelore (and Supabase for storage).

What About Analytics?
Anonymous Usage Analytics (Mandatory)
The Savelore extension collects anonymous usage analytics to help us improve the product. This is mandatory and cannot be disabled.
✅ What We Track:
- • Number of snippets saved (not the content)
- • Which features you use (folders, tags, Collection Mode, cloud sync)
- • Platform usage (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini)
- • Pro upgrade events
- • Days since install (for cohort analysis)
❌ What We DON'T Track:
- • Your snippet content or AI conversations
- • Your search queries or tag names
- • Folder names or descriptions
- • Any personally identifiable information
- • Your browsing history outside Savelore
Anonymous User ID: We use your Chrome extension install ID as an anonymous identifier. This cannot be linked to your personal identity, email, or any other accounts.
Analytics Tool: We use Mixpanel for usage analytics. Mixpanel acts as a data processor and follows their privacy policy. All data sent to Mixpanel is anonymous and does not include any of your snippet content or personal information.
Landing Page Analytics Only
Here's where we're 100% transparent: Our website (savelore.app) uses basic analytics to understand how visitors interact with our landing page. This is completely separate from the extension.
What we track on the website only:
- • Page views and time on site
- • Button clicks (e.g., "Get Started Free")
- • Scroll depth (how far you scroll)
- • General location (country level only)
- • Device type and browser
Analytics tools we use on the website:
- • Umami Analytics - Privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics (no cookies, no personal data stored). Learn more at umami.is/privacy

Important: This website analytics data cannot see your snippet content, search queries, or anything you do inside the extension. The extension and website are completely separate.
Pro License Users: If you buy Pro, your email is used for license management and (optionally) cloud sync account creation. You can request account deletion anytime by emailing support@savelore.app.
Your Data Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- • Access: You can view all your data anytime in the extension
- • Export: Export your snippets to Notion, Markdown, or JSON
- • Delete: Delete individual snippets or your entire account
- • Disable Sync: Turn off cloud sync anytime by signing out - your local data stays intact
To delete your account and all cloud data, email us at support@savelore.app. We'll process your request within 7 days.
Legal Stuff (Required but Boring)
This extension complies with Chrome Web Store policies, GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations. The extension collects anonymous usage analytics (no personal data, no content). Our website (savelore.app) uses anonymous analytics under our legitimate interest in improving the product experience.
Mixpanel (extension analytics), Umami Analytics, and Google Analytics act as data processors for our analytics and follow their respective privacy policies. Extension analytics data is completely separate from website analytics and does not include any content you save.
Service Providers: We use the following third-party services:
